克罗斯说道：“我感觉最后一场比赛（对阵西班牙）就像在几天前，我认为我们在过去的三个月里取得了一些近几年所没有的成就，那就是拥有一支能够激励球迷的球队。塑造这支球队的几名球员已经不在队中了，但这是建立新结构的机会。”

“我只想请大家支持国家队，站在球队的身后，我了解为国家队效力的球员，也清楚他们的为人。我认为他们值得获得大家的支持。我们在欧洲杯上看到，对球员来说，当整个国家在背后支持他们的时候，会比受到质疑更容易（达成目标）。”
