尽管新赛季英超只进行了3场比赛，但曼联主帅滕哈赫已经感受到两连败后的压力。对阵利物浦的比赛中，球队再次暴露出了他们的问题，而滕哈赫已经担任主帅两年多的时间了。

报道称，曼联已经制定了在出现最坏情况下的应急预案，图赫尔是他们接手球队的理想人选。今年夏天，拉特克利夫曾与图赫尔有过对话，但最终还是选择继续和滕哈赫合作。

此前《邮报》曾表示，曼联不太可能追求刚从英格兰离任的索斯盖特，尽管后者渴望以俱乐部主帅的身份再次证明自己。
