李毅分析说道：“这场比赛对于国足非常困难，日本队是亚洲第一，有很多旅欧球员，加上又是18强赛的首场比赛，应该是难上加难。”

“这场比赛国足首先要做好防守，能多守一分钟就是一分钟，这也将体现这十来天的训练中，伊万的防守组织效果如何，因为在这次18强赛，对手实力在我们之上或是差不多，最重要的就是防守，因此正好可以看看伊万对于防守的打造有没有提升。”

“我觉得这场比赛伊万应该不会再踢单后腰了，但我觉得他也不会五后卫，肯定还是四后卫，有可能是442或者451。甭管怎么样，还是先做好防守，然后抓反击，甚至是前场的定位球。这样的比赛，反击以及前场定位球的机会不会特别多，有的话就需要抓住。而且还要考验每一个队员有没有防守的耐心，这叫抗击打能力。”
