而在赛季初，内维尔曾质疑利物浦的中场阵容，认为曼联的中场比红军的中场更有深度，优秀的球员也更多。在双红会结束后，卡拉格翻出了内维尔昔日的言论，配上多个笑哭的表情来嘲讽对方。

此前，内维尔曾表示：“我认为曼联在中场上拥有更多的球员，更有深度，也有更多优秀的球员。”卡拉格追问：“曼联上赛季最大的问题就出现在这里，出现在中场上！”内维尔回答：“那是中场的结构问题。梅努已经可以和卡塞米罗在中场并肩作战了，我们还有B费、芒特和麦克托米奈。”
